Drain a 2-quart jar of dill pickles. Other ingredients:3 med. size onions (sliced)
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. cider vinegar
1/2 c. cold water
2 sticks cinnamon
Slice the pickles thick and alternate in the jar with the onion slices. Dissolve the sugar in the water and vinegar – DO NOT HEAT – just stir so all the sugar is dissolved. Put sticks of cinnamon into liquid and pour over layered pickles and onions. Let stand (covered) in refrigerator 2 days before using. "Best pickles ever."
